The Coronavirus and Botanica – 20 March 2020

Thank you to everyone who is self-isolating and/or actively social distancing. The arrival of Owners and Residents returning from winter travels is progressing well. Welcome home! – we are happy to have you back with us safe and sound. Thank you for self-isolating for 14 days upon your return.

PROTECTING YOURSELF – AND REACHING OUT TO OTHERS

All owners, residents and guests are reminded to wash their hands immediately upon entering your suite after travelling through common element areas.
There may be residents of Botanica in need of assistance at this time. Several owners have volunteered to make themselves available in the event that an owner needs special assistance. Please reach out to our Property Manager or to any Board member if you need assistance.

BUILDING CLEANING AND SANITIZING

Botanica’s superintendents and a few residents continue enhanced cleaning of commonly touched surfaces such as common element door knobs and handles, elevator call buttons, stairwell hand railings etc. Additional volunteers are welcome to participate in this activity. Please contact our Property Manager if you wish to volunteer.
A big thank you to our superintendents and volunteers who are helping to work to keep our community safe.

GUESTS AND VISITORS

There is currently no plan to restrict guests and visitors to Botanica and no such plans will be instituted unless government officials make it a requirement by issuing mandatory lock downs. Thank you to everyone visiting our buildings for washing your hands prior to arriving and as soon as you enter a suite.

THE RECREATION CENTRE

Botanica’s speakers series has been postponed until such time as local authorities confirm that we can loosen restrictions on social distancing. The Recreation Centre remains open for the moment. A reminder that anyone using the exercise facilities must wipe down any equipment before and after use. As always but even more so at this time, the use of the recreation centre facilities is at your own risk.

BOTANICA’S MANAGEMENT – OUR PROPERTY MANAGER AND THE BOARD

CMG Services continues to attend to regular operational, administrative and financial work remotely. Invoices are being paid on time. Botanica’s staff continue to be paid. For the time being CMG is limiting its onsite activities to urgent and emergency situations which cannot be resolved without CMG’s presence on site. Regular on-site activities including building inspections and office hours (where they are mandated by the management agreement) will resume once it is safe to do so. CMG continues work with legal professionals and the Board to ensure that the legal obligations of the condominium corporation are fulfilled to protect the condominium from liability.

Your Board continues to meet either in person or by electronic means. We continue to work to support the proper governance of Botanica.

Finally, we will continue to communicate with you through regular messages to ensure you have the most up-to-date information available.
